Seattle's Premier Bob Dylan Tribute Band

The Wanderers by Trade are five musicians who share the love of performing and delivering an entertaining exposure to Bob Dylan's songwriting and his various musical arrangements.

About the band...

Ian Weiner

Dylanologist, Lead vocals, percussion

Ian has been blowing in the wind with Dylan's music all his life, dreaming up this gig. "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows and watch your parking meters" became his mantra at age 11...and he never looked back.

He played in various rock and blues bands before forming Wanderers By Trade in 2017.

Ollie O'Sullivan

Lead guitar, vocals

Ollie was born in Ireland, in the year "Blood on the Tracks" was released. As a teen he was taken with music, inspired by the classic rock of the 1970s. He picked up his first guitar in his 20s.

In 2003, he moved to London to focus on sound engineering, but had to return to the world of IT for paying the bills. He moved to Seattle in 2010 where he has been fortunate and thankful to jam with wonderful musicians who have become lifelong friends.

Playing in cover bands helped him grow as a guitarist and has prepared him for paying tribute to Bob Dylan's poetry and music.

In addition to Wanderers By Trade, Ollie has also written and performed original music with friends in bands such as "Barring the Weather" and now "Daisy Wrench."

Larry "Southside" McCann

Bass, vocals

Larry was born on the south side of Chicago, where he cut his teeth playing bass with the blues and soul bands in his teens. He moved to Seattle where he played bass in festivals and clubs with Pacific Northwest bands including "Careless Entry", "Midnight Muse" and the "Rhythm Players." He is best known for his work in the 90's with Seattle's rhythm and blues band, "Larry & the Lizards."

The depth and relevance of honoring Bob Dylan's catalog inspired Larry to join Wanderers By Trade in 2019

Band note: Larry is largely responsible for guiding the arrangements and sound of the band alongside Ian.

Kurt Keydel

Keyboards, harp (harmonica), guitar and vocals

Kurt was born in Seattle but grew up outside of Baltimore. He played piano and guitar as a kid. He and some high school friends formed a popular suburban classic rock cover band, "The Spies".  In the mid-1980's he performed a solo act as a folk guitarist and singer in and around Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Kurt moved back to Seattle in 1990 but didn't return to live music until 2005, playing bass, keys and guitar in the cover band, "The Art Thieves". He has since played in several Seattle original alt-country and indie-rock bands including "Charlie Heinemann and the Repeat Offenders" and "The Almost Faithful". He continues to play with a classic rock cover band, the "Throwbacks" as a side project.
Kurt was invited to join "Wanderers by Trade" in 2019 as a harp player but soon realized there was an opportunity to fill in additional roles as a keyboardist and backup guitarist.

Kurt also enjoys visual arts and cartooning and creates many of the gig posters for the band.

Alan Silverstein

Drums, percussion, vocals

Alan began playing drums in 1968. His early experience included playing snare in the Drum Corps International World Champion Concord Blue Devils from 1974-77. While attending San Diego State University where he earned a degree in music, he was a regular substitute percussionist for the San Diego Symphony and as a casual player played with many artists including Rosemary Clooney, and Johnny Mathis.

He was a member of Mike Keneally’s (Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani etc..) band Drop Control, San Diego Reggae Ska band The Trowsers, an many others. He was also a member of microtonal pioneer Harry Partch’s Ensemble and appears on several recordings.

After 20 years abroad playing with numerous groups classical, rock, jazz and experimental, and working as an educator for the Department of Defense Overseas Education Activity, he settled in the Seattle region and has been fortunate to become the drummer for the Premiere Seattle Dylan cover band Wanderers By Trade as well as Jazz/Funk band Zetasonic and original band Lazuli Shoals.
